In concepting, designing and then building my dream home and sugarlump headquarters, the “why” became the most important. How can I design a space that is peaceful, inspirational and sunny (in the middle of a rainy Oregon forest.) And why do I want to? Well, I like to live in a little bubble. I don’t watch the news, don’t like hearing about drama, and use social media as little as humanly possible. Creating a dreamscape has become an act of survival for me, and the joy it brings me is boundless. Every little “special moment” in the house and landscape reflects my personality, and how I want people to feel as soon as they approach the front porch.
My style reflects my outlook on life. I believe in happy, bright, and looking on the sunny side. I believe in a crazy amount of positivity, and I thrive in sanctuary–peaceful, quiet and warm. (With a ton of fun mixed in.)

Dream it.
Don’t tell my best friend, but Pinterest is my BFF. I have spent years (yes, years) planning this house and creative compound. I look at it every day and it is just about my only form of social media unless I can help it. View my “home” board here. Presentations for myself and our builder keep us on the same page with my material selections and orders. We meet on Fridays and then Jeff and I head down to our nearby hole-in-the-wall for a beer to get acquainted with the locals.

Build it.
I LOVED working with my (not really my brother) brother, Tim Gallagher @glgr His creativity knows no bounds. I learned SO MUCH from him over the years we worked together, and we created some incredible spaces. He is very inspirational to me and I am using the design/build skills he taught me to create this place. See his work here.

Enjoy it.
Doesn’t that image make you happily relax? A simple visual can make all the difference. That’s what I am creating for my family and our guests through interior and exterior design. An oasis in the midst of outer chaos. The decompression will begin with sheep and goats behind white farm fences at the beginning of our road. And the memories will linger for a lifetime.
Let’s work together
